I have been in the computer industry for over 20 years and on this earth for 56 (2008). I’ve read hundreds and hundreds of books and typically they are non-fiction, non-technical books such as biographies and auto-biographies of influencial people, analysis of current events, recounts of historical era’s and philosophy. With all that I would hope that some of my observations might have some value. In addition clients and potential clients of Squaretree are likely to benefit from knowing a bit more about how I think since it is typical that a small business owner builds a business that reflects at least in part who they are. That is not to say that employees of Squaretree are somehow clones of me, I can guarantee from some heated conversations about issues that they are not. But they are thoughtful, smart and individual thinkers; probably because I like smart, thoughtful individuals even if they don’t agree with me. In spite of all the negative talk that can be heard in some places about the state of the new generation (X, Y, or whatever) I am finding some very, very smart people not just technically but general thinkers navigating wonderfully through the currently confusing state of information. It’s thrilling and fun.
So for what it’s worth here is my opportunity to pontificate away. If it’s valuable I’d love to know. If you disagree I’m fine with that too. My only requirement for comments is that they are respectful, I will not tolerate nor allow to be published name calling, flaming, ranting comments. If you disagree, say with what and why and if possible refer to third party information that supports your argument. But arguements that include “you stupid jerk” or all the other name calling junk I see in some of the forums on the internet are not welcome here. Remember, thoughtful and smart.
